Does anybody know if there will be a non-XPS version of this?

Will it be available through the Small Business or Home sections?

I'm really liking the pictures of this laptop i just hope they have a non-xps version of this one...

Does anyone know what this X1300/Go7300 is capable of? I'm thinking along the lines of CS/DoD and in particular I have Half Life 2: Episode One in mind.

Just curious.

I, too, would be curious to hear what the performance is like with the X1300/Go7300.

Anyone?

This laptop is what the M1710 should've looked like.

there's something wrong when a picture of a 12" screen shows up larger than the screen surface of a 15.4.

I actually use mine on my lap and having that jack there is pretty annoying.

I would probably agree if I had not skipped over the 700 for the exact same reason. I use a laptop as a mobile computer, as I stated, it is typically in my lap and if on a hard surface I still don't use an external mouse so either way it is still in the way.

I guess it's a personally choice that Fear feels a bit strongly about...

I told you this thing was coming

ActualDellrep - my company has asked me to shop for 10 new notebooks for the sales force, I'd like your opinion on this new XPS and a price quote if you can. Your guidance on the type of warranty would also be helpful. I've pretty much made up my mind to go Dell because they're the best, I'm just not sure which model. Can you contact me?

thnx

Hello, Actual Dell. In the picture you posted, it appears that the touchpad and media buttons are lit in blue? Is that a correct perception?

The two headphone jacks up front is osmething HP started doing on the dv1000 series. It is so 2 sets of headphones can plug in for two people to watch a movie with headphones and not disturb anyone around them. Good for airplanes etc.

So they can't be set up as a 4.0 surround? curses....

I still firmly believe that businesses are better off buying Latitudes, due to their longer lifespan (new employees can get the same notebook as others regardless if they are hired months later - an more effective way to standardize and manage the company's IT) and due to parts being available for a longer period of time. This keeps the average equipment refresh cycle at or around 3 years, as opposed to most people replacing their Inspirons far more frequently. Note that I said MOST. Kudos to those of you who have 3-year-old Inspirons...You're an, um, INSPIRation to us all!

The pictures I got probably came out before a prototype was sent to the reviewer. Hence the differences...
