Turnig off internal wireless card in a latitude C640

Is there an easy way to turn off the internal wireless card when you don't want to use it? Say i have the laptop docked, and using the wired NIC, or not docked but using a wire connection when aavailable, can I turn off the internal card??

the wireless radio is enabled and can be disabled by pressing the <Fn> + <F2> keys at the same time, or slide the ON/OFF wireless switch on the side of the portable to the OFF position if the portable contains this feature.

I figured it out, The driver came with a wlan utility that makes it easy to turn the radio on and off.

There should be a "docked" and an "undocked" profile in System Properties. If so, when you are docked simply disable the wireless adapter and it will never be on while docked.

I also make a second "undocked" profile, and it has wireless disabled. If I'm flying or using wired I use that. When I boot up undocked it gives me a choice of the two undocked profile, and by default picks the wireless one after 30 seconds unless I pick one first.

The Fn+F2 trick doesn't work on the C Series Latitudes. Rickmtg gave the correct fix. Just set hardware profiles to disable the onboard wireless. That's what I did with my i8200, I'd have the Wireless NIC disabled when Docked and then just turn the radio on and off with the Intel Wireless utility. My Cisco Aironet 350, had the radio on/off feature in it's tray utility as well.

Yep, that's what I did, The radio is off by default, and i turm it on when I need it.
