In one of the pics, the one that shows the bottom side of the laptop, there is a long opening right in the middle top of the pic. It looks like a connection port for a ribbon cable. What the heck is that for?

Carmein, Nvidia has a program called coolbits. You download that and enable it to your registry. Then in your display panel there will be an option to "set clock frequencies." You select manual overclocking and go from there. They do have an option of "test optimum frequencies" and I usually do that and then set it back a few notches to be on the safe side.

It is for the d/dock I ordered yesterday. Go on Dell's website and search under docks and it will explain what is for.

Out of curiousity, are you going to be using the d/bay or the pci slot in your d/dock? If so..what are you going to put in them? And if not, why not save some money and get the d/port advanced port replicator (d/dock without d/bay and pci slot)?

You are right, the port replicator will also connect like th d/dock and all I wanted it for is to use the serial and parallel ports. What are the uses for the pci and d/bay?

i assume this also fits the bill for the m1710? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...ctlisting.aspx
only costs 180$
Actually no... I think not seeing as how the 9300, and XPS gen 2 are 130 watts I'm assuing the M1710 is 130 watts as well if not higher. That last one you just posted says at the bottom that it's 90 watts. 90 Watts isn't going to cut it...

Found something that appears to be the d/dock for less than 100$ clams. Can anyone verify if this is the right d/dock?

Maybe the PC version does something different with stealth. Funny thing is, I think people may be missing the fact that stealth is what dictates if you get sprung by a guard. Now that I have stealth at 100 I can steal a bow from under a shopkeepers nose and get away with it. It all comes down to if that eye is golden or not, and that's down to your stealth ability.

How can I forget something if I didn't know about it?

You really need to make your posts not so condescending to others...

EDIT: And about that Psychic Guards mod, it's wonderful that you're such an awesome thief, but I would go into someone's home as part of a quest, to retrieve a quest item that I'm supposed to get, after the guards just helped me kill the guy so I could go get the quest item and after going inside the perp's house, and retrieving said item, I had guards just 'magically' appear!

But, whatever, you sound like you've got it all under control.

Welll, if you have a latitude with at swappable bay, you can put those same peripherals in the d/bay on the dock as well as charge the batteries that go into them. Obviously for the m90/m1710, the battery charging is worthless, but you could put an extra optical drive or hard drive in there.

The pci slot could be used for anything. It's only half length (<6.9xx") but still. If you could put a sound card or do what I'm thinking of doing and add a pci tv tuner. Whatever your heart desires. well..as long as the card is short enough

Yes that should also fit the m1710 or m90. The only difference is the Prt replicator doesn't have the pci slot or d/bay in it.

My intent was not condescension, but then for the sake of brevity and time, I tried to keep it down to another link (that it turns out you didn't know about - making an assumption does not make for condescension). By the way, there are cultural differences at play. The use of the term 'you are forgetting about...' is a way of saying something where I come from. There are colloqualisms, terms, and slang that explain why I said something with an intent that you took completely out of context. When dealing with others on an international forum I find it helps to confirm intent before assuming the worst in another. You sounded so sure I just assumed you would know. Rather than tell you that I knew it all, I thought I would just share another useful link that will efficiently yield more practical advice than either of those two links you shared, combined. Also, I am curious as to how this particular post warranted the use of 'posts'? I go out of my way to be helpful. If others choose to interpret that as condescending, then I cannot be responsible for that. At any rate, I hope that my stated intent helps to explain where I was coming from. How you choose to interpret my intent from this point on is, of course, your choice.

I've mentioned in the past of your condescending attitude in a previous post. Telling someone that they forgot something when they clearly wasn't aware of that comes across to me as a know-it-all. You wanted constructive criticism, but hey, don't take that to hard or anything.

I didn't know about the tweak guide. Frankly you assume your 'practical' tweak guide would be better than mods. Personally, I'm not interested about tweaking my .ini file and would much rather use modes instead. Does that make your idea better? From the sound of it, yes?

If I had known of the tweakguide, I would have included it my list. But your nature of saying I forgot something I didn't know about it is indeed condescending.

Alright, let me try this another way.

The tweakguide has a section for ini tweaks AND mods. Enjoy. I found the site fantastic.
