7800 fits in a 1705 so 7900 should fit in the XPS.

yeah but the e1705 and the xps 1710 have the same motherboard ... thats why the 9300 can have the 7800 gtx, 6800 ultra and 6800 go because it has the same motherboard as the xps 170. But the 7900 gtx may fit but i doubt because they have a different motherboard

I already said the 7800 fits in the 1705 so your line of reasoning is off. If the 7800 works in the 1705 that means while they are a different chipset the layout lines up. The only difference in layout between the 9300 and 1705 is a keyboard screw.

I do not have the M170 anymore. I sold it on Ebay for more than I paid for it. I was going to return it but the dell rep offered me a $60 credit back to my card and 3 $100 coupons. I took the deal and ran. BTW, Dell screwed up and ended up emailing me 12 $100 coupons. I am stoked. Now I can get the d/dock and external Maxtor 200gb alot cheaper. Not to mention I will get a wireless mouse, notebook bag, and other stuff virtually free with the coupons. I could even upgrade to stock 2gb ram for about $120 after the coupon discounts. Man I feel lucky. I purchased the M170 with the 80gb hd option for $1423 and sold it on Ebay for $1700.

the reason i asked about the bloat ware was i read a article dell was going to limit bloatware on xps system.....u mentioned it's about the same as the m170....was that alot?

I will list all installed bloatware in about 45 minutes when I get home. It is frustating that I have the laptop of my dreams sitting at home under my bed and I have to be here at work and had already made plans to go out for dinner and then to the Casino with my wife and friends tonight. However I will be waking up early tomorrow morning start installing Oblivian and running 3dmark05 benchmark scores (while I watch the 49ers draft Vernon Davis of course). I am very surprised nobody else here has received theirs.

What's up with these reputation points? I only joined this forum a couple of weeks ago and had not noticed them. I got a bunch of negative points from Sager lovers. One of them even called me fat. Man some people here are rough.

heh, my first two posts on this forum (in the 1710 order status thread) got negative rep from Sager trolls. I just turned it off because I don't care one way or another. Some people seriously need a hobby or something ...

Then again, I've spent the last 5 days alternating between obsessively refreshing this forum, and obsessively refreshing the Dell order status page ... so I guess I fall under that category too.
