The Moral of the Story is...

Greetings;

As I mentioned earlier I ordered a m1710 on Wed. Since I have an EPP program through my university, I was able to get what I thought was a good deal. Today I had David from Dell call to tell me that the rep that I spoke with had made several errors in processing. He had cancelled my order and had made several corrections and wanted to ensure that I was OK with the changes. I had ordered this:

m1710 1.83GHz
1GB RAM
512MB 7900 GTX
60GB 7200 RPM HDD
Windows MCE
And all the usual included stuff

He and I made the following changes:

1. EPP discount from 5% to 12%

2. Upgrade to the 100GB 7200 HDD

3. Upgrade to the 3 year warrenty with compleat care

Total cost...**edit**$2479**edit**; $70 less than what I was going to pay previously.

The moral here, find a good rep and stick with them.

Note: I'm an idiot. I made a typo in the price. Correct Price is now listed.

Wow, it's nice to be rich, huh? Still seems like you are overpaying anyways. Oh well.

Is that in US dolars? that seems waaay over priced!

OMG man......you might want to call Dell again and price it out. Check out the website and configure one and add it to your cart. Gotta be able to find one cheaper than that.

I'm going to guess that's in Australian or New Zealand Dollars. It can't be US or Canadian.

He is Canadian and he paid $2479. How do I know? Well, I'm psychic.

The only possible justification for my typo that I can give is...

I am guessing that the over priced part was before he listed 2400 price. I sure hope so at least.
