I thought I'd bump this thread with an update of sorts:
It has finally started warming up here in Raleigh, NC in the last few weeks. During the afternoon hours, my home office window lets sunlight in onto the room hence warming things up a bit. The desktop (the actual desk, not XP

) warms up considerably.
So I have had a few blue screens (due to heat) while in heated ONS battles in UT2k4 as of late. So I dug out the USB cable for my Antec Cool Pad yesterdayt afternoon and ran a test. I played UT with sunlight directly onto the desk/laptop for an hour to see if I could get an overheat situation to occur.
Well my wife finally dragged me out of the room kicking and screaming (I was driving the Leviathan woman!!) to have dinner after about an hour...not one overheat.
If anyone has doubts as to the efficiency of the Cool Pad, let this be one honest person's example of how it has helped...now if I could just figure out how to fire the Ion cannon on the Leviathan...
