Finally made it into boxing, hopefully it doesn't sit there for ages...

Did you put that on order before they decided to only go with the 950 for a while?

Yeah, I ordered it probably two days before they offered only 950.

I wonder if it means that they might soon offer the D620 with Quadro again???

I noticed if you click on the "Help Me Choose" for Graphics, the window says "The Latitude D820 & D620 family of products will offer three graphics options" (my emphasis) even though Quadro is not currently available for the D620.

Is all this a good sign?

I think it *is* a good sign. If you're interested, try calling Dell and see what they say...

it shipped bro it shipped

Great man, hope you enjoy the 620, full review when you get it

Didnt they try to cancel your order like they did with others?
How did you get it to stick? I was going to order the m90, but
now im leaning towards the d620 for mobility. It would be a big plus
for me to get the dedicated gpu instead of the integrated.

Please share benchmarks with us as soon as you get yours. Specially
interested in battery and temperature. Some ppl have complained about
it getting hot and dedicated should mean hotter than 950.

Working the benchmarks, need to do some real world tests too and battery life test.

Thats still strange, why do they ship it if there is some problem with it. This
could imply that the main problem is with availibility not any real problem.
it was an availabilty issue if you follow what is happening with nvidia you would see that they had a production issue about 2 months ago for the new chips it was either a slowdown so that they could get rid of stock of the 7800 based chips or it was an actual production shortfall

either way it sucked
Bal: I still don't see the Quadro for the D620 on dell.com, do you know if this will change soon?
My understanding was the production issues were with the high end chips.
Usually they have plenty of the large volume mid-to-low-range chips.
They are in a really bad place if they cant produce anaything. And if
its just an availibility issue, why take the option away and not but the
traditional may delay your order-tag in.

I've ran every 3dMark benchmark and played Half Life 2 on the Quadro 110 with absolutely no issues. No crashes, no buzzing noises, no artifacts. Of course 3DMark06 ran like crap, but it made it through! Actually, I was surprised how well it ran HL2, this laptop is definately capable of light 3D gaming. I'm curious ho much I could sell it for, but I have no interest if doing that !

Discount 25% from what you paid for it (not including any taxes and shipping you paid) and pay the shipping to the person who buys it from you; wait another couple months and take another 15% off as Merom will be out around then.

Ronin, I'm convinced as well that these lappys are definately lannable, especially mine with my configuration. Granted not like a M1710 where the settings can be cranked way high, but I think on low it can handle most games

What are you talking about? Why would I discount 25% off an item that no one can get? I was suggesting that it could be sold for a profit due to the video card that is not offered anymore.
