just as an update i had the Acer 5672 2GB model and i was able to get 1735 3d05 marks but only after completly wiping all partitions, installed a fresh copy of XP pro, disable all garbage services, tweaking 3d settings etc but did NOT OC any component. with just turning off the acer crap services i got 1650 3dmarks so whats listed is what you will get if you leave the original os install on.

THis post just makes me want an Acer 8204 more than ever. I'm not a big time gamer so I don't need a 7900GTX but I do want to play new games at a decent frame rate and the x1600 fits the bill perfectly. Why oh why couldn't Dell actually put in a good gpu for the E1505? If Acer can fit a x1600 into that notebook(which is thinner than the E1505) than Dell certainly can. Bah! I gotta save some money up and get a 8204.

Nice list BTW! Great comparison between the most popular laptops. We should keep this as a sticky and keep adding notebooks as they come out so people can easily compare 3DMark scores between current laptops. Greay job MrYman!
what's your 3dmark05 score for dell e1505 (no o/v)?

thanks for kind words! agreed with adding new notebooks to the chart... hope ppl add info here....

Its 3DMark05 score is 3917, with the following details:

$1800, Core Duo T2400 1.83GHz, ATI X1600 256MB, 14" 1280x768, 1GB, 100 GB 5400rpm, 2.2kg, 3h
sure, will add it soon -- looks like a great performer for its money! and thanks for providing all the data so i don't need to seek it out...

underclock it? I think the 9300 used to come underclocked.. maybe they do it to all models?

Too much heat? IDK

EDIT: forget this post, I did'nt notice there was a second page.

Why is this not stickied? It's such a good list and a good idea for those who want to know the facts from personal use not from the sellers.

Why is this still floating around?

Mods, sticky this, this is great work and a solid reference!!!

okay first off: bump for a great thread an encourage people to add their laptops. Secondly, apart form the Gateway mentioned here (which doesn't support the X1400 anymore), does anyone know of a tablet that has a modular video card? Or even better an MXM card? Even if it's underpowered.
