qustion about compaq r4000 cpu speed?

Hi all,


Im at college doin animation and i bought an r4000 laptop. Its an AMD 64 3200.

I thoght these clocked at 2ghz but all AMD clock and windows itself says the system is clocking 1ghz. Is there any way to make it clock at its full potential?

Yes their is, AMD has a feature that automatically down clockes the processor when it is not being used and then it brings back up the clock when it needs the power. If you want to have it run at 2GHZ all the time then click on the batterey/power cord icon in the toolbar and set the power scheme to "always on"
