Hypersonic FX7- To buy or not to buy?

My wife has a photograpy business and the FX7 looks as if could handle Photoshop cs, does anyone have other options. Have reviewed 6 to 7 other high end systems.

Voodoo,Falcon,Sager,Alienware,M-Tech and a few others.

Any comments or suggestions. Thanks

They all are the same Clevo model

Its how much you willing to spend and who does the better job as far as options.

Voodoo and Falcon are fine on a Ferrari diet.

Sager is basic non discript lappy, price wise its cheaper than Hype but you dont have the wide selection of options, nor the smooth creations paint job you can get.

Alien is just as good as Hype (again its the same Clevo). Only thing with Alien is that you have the fancy molded lid compared to the paint on Hype, AND the glowing face.

M-tech is same as Sager, basic non discript lappy. Fine if you want to blend into the crowd instead of stand out.

Styles can be expressions of your personality, if you want bold and bright go Falcon, Voodoo, Hype, or Alien. If you want bland and dull go Sager, M-tech.

Thats basicly it about the D900T.

they are all the smae thing except for pricing, painted or not painted and cs. If your wife is not going to be gaming i would get her like a core duo laptop. I don't think your wife wants to lug around a 13 pound laptop. I also think that if you do get the hypersonic fx7,sager 9750, aw aurora m7700 that it will be too powerful for her. I mean that you may be dropping like anywhere from 3-4 k and i don't think you need to spend that much on a laptop just for photoshop and cs. I say go with a dell 1505 with core duo. Just to clarify again i don't think your wife will actually use all of the power in the laptop. I like hypersonic, sager,aw, and fnw but i don't think you need to drop that much $$$$ just for those apps. I hope this helped !

the fx7 is an extremely capable laptop. i have the intel version(EX7) and it is extremely fast. i have cs 2 and the high res monitor allows me to work with many large files at once with no lag. highly reccomend it.

I think your post is in one of the other threads. This topic seems to be popular in about three threads right now.

Great specs on the system. That is pretty much what I would go with (except with a cool paint job - but that is my individual taste).

I know I am a bit late in response, but I hope that she doesn't have the desire to take this thing on the road a lot and use it off the battery - because the FX7 (or EX7 for that matter) is not designed for that. The system is heavy and it does eat up the battery.

Now... if it will remain stationary - it will definitely have more than enough power to drive the apps you are talking about - and then some.

Good luck!

Nice... and congrats on the purchase. You kept the price down with some of the options, but these are definitely replaceable items that you can add later. Good call.

Thanks ratmyr. Yeah I talked to them over the phone quite a bit about upgrades down the road and squashed any worries I may have had about that. Now to save up for that custom paint job.

Oh yeah... thx everyone again for all your help! Much appreciated!!!!

lol the thread names are almost identical. i guess its a good omen for hyper I agree about the mobile concern. In that case id get the CX7, or the MX6/CX6 series. They are more mobile and still pack a punch.
