Should I upgrade to 2GB RAM or DVDRW drive? (I6000)

I can either upgrade from my 1.2GB (taking out the 256MB to 1GB) to 2GB, or buy a DVDRW drive (from DVD/CDRW)...

Which would you do first?

depends what you want to do with it. Burn DVDs or use large amounts of data, or play games. and if the answer is both, then which do you want to do more?

personally, i would upgrade the memory, because you can never have too much.

I would upgrade the memory. Also, consider an external DVD writer if you don't need to write DVDs on the go. They should be cheaper and faster.

actually external dvd writers are more expensive, at least the ones i saw. I'm going to see about the DVDRW drive first, cause I have 1.2GB already of RAM, and I don't even utilize it all, even though I do play some games like F.e.a.r.

get more RAM

2GB is wonderful

I personally would get the DVDRW because, for me, over 1GB of ram is an overkill.. But, like others said, it all depends on what you intend to do on the laptop.. I burn ALOT of DVDs [data and video] on the go..

I suggest ordering with DVDRw initially, and purchase memory after.
Its cheaper buying memory after. I was right around the total cost where my coupon would work.
So i had to move a few items to total enough to use when attempting to get the Inspiron deal.
But cancelled Inspiron order once the XPS deal for around 1333 came about.
It was better deal and with Nvidia card. Buy memory after, Dvdrw now.
Corsair was a little over $80per 1gig stick

Go for the memory and a external DVD burner. I have a external which works great. I can also move it between my desktop and laptop.

id go dvdrw drive. unless your using 1.2GB of ram, which most people dont, its just a waste for 2gb. i do a lot of stuff on my 6000, and non of which takes more than 800mb.
gaming is different, but again, the 6000 is not really a Gamer , hope my op helps.
