Model NP5660
For $700 or so you can have it upgraded to a Radeon 9600 128meg vid card and a motherboard supporting the 800mhz buss and HT

www.PCtorque.com, a major Sager reseller, wants $1700 shipped for a 5680 right now with the same screen, a 2.8, and a 4200rpm run of the mill 40gig drive, but it has the 9600 128meg and the newer motherboard with 800mhz buss support.
I've never had a problem with it. It runs every game I've played on it well, UT2K3 is fine, Call Of Duty, MOH, Elite Force2 and on down the line. The original UT at 1400x1050 with every single setting wide open is a blast, I love it.
Battery life, in a word, sucks. I can screw around on the internet for 30-45 minutes without cutting it too close. You dont buy this kind of laptop for battery life. sagerforums.com members report that overall a battery lasts about a year of normal use. This one is slightly over a year old. There is an option for dual batts, but I never saw the point. The real beauty of this rig is it's litteraly a desktop replacement. All the speed and power of a desktop, and I can pack this, my trackball, my external 200gig firewire drive, my headphones, etc, up and be out the door inside ten minutes. You can't beat it. And yes it's heavy, I have a targus backpack, in which I keep the lappy, a full size external enclosure for my 200gig drive, a couple dozen cd's, a notebook(paper), other odds and ends, the weight is nothing compared to haveing all this handy. And I'm not a large guy.
I've run XP, win2K and several Linux brands with no problems, red hat seemed to like it a lot. First time I've seen accelerated gameing in Linux, it was nifty.
I want $900 plus actual (safe!) shipping. I'd *really* like $600 or so in cash and a decent little P2/3 lappy as partial trade. Don't need a desktop, don't need much of anything with any high monitary value other than a short list I'll put below. Heatware under Ramses, PM's prefered, but e-mail works. Thanks..
Trade list:
The afore mentioned lower end lappy.
Supermicro 440GX dual slot 1 board.
Dual slot 1 CPU's, P3/500mhz+
TNT2/Gforce1 AGP
Gforce2+-something(AGP2x compatable)
Mid grade CDRW x2
DVD Reader(combo with above maybe)
15-30gig IDE drive x2
I mention the above on the off chance someone who wants the lappy has any of it laying around basicaly.
I'd also trade for a mercedes w123 240D with a manual trans and non-auto climate control. I might also trade my 300D for that..
