Question about HP Notebook

On my Dad's HP, the tap feature on the touchpad was disabled....

I tried going into settings to enable it, but couldn't find anything regarding "tap"

I checked out a bunch of other HP's at Comp USA and found all of them had tap turned off

How do I go about enabling this feature?

Are you sure it's capable of the feature?? I was fixing my friend's HP laptop and I kept trying to tap-click, but either it was disabled or it doesn't have the capability.

Download the newest drivers from Synaptics for your touch pad. After installing the newest drivers you can program custom functions with your pad, i.e. scroll, tap etc...

That is of course the notebook has a Synaptics pad. I have a Presario 2810T and its pad won't work until you use the right drivers.
