Center Dead Pixels, Single Pixels What gives?

Thread Starter
Ok, of course, after reviewing some of my choices regarding Sager, Hyper.., Clevo.., etc.

I noticed that in the forums, people were talking about dead pixel?

How does it affect anything? Maybe I'm not understanding exactly what is going on but can someone explain to me what it is, how it's bothering everyone?

And I guess why it's such a problem with these laptops? How come Hyper...is charging an extra $70+ to ensure you don't get it? I just find it wierd considering if I was some regular Joe Schmoe looking for a propriety laptop (Dell, Compaq, HP, SOny, etc.) Dead pixels isn't really a problem?

Anyone?

This site has a decent write up:

Pixinator

And no, it's not just a Sager thing. Just us perfomance phreaks really do notice these things.

Ah, decided just to lift the pertinent part:

" Pixel problems arise from manufacturing defects and can manifest themselves right out of the factory or over time. Each pixel in an LCD screen is composed of Red, Green, and Blue sub-pixels. Any one, or even all of those sub-pixels can short out, either never turning on - a dead pixel, or always staying on - a stuck pixel. "
