E1405 is up on Dells site - Page 2

Which 35% off coupon did you use? I was trying those from the Coupons thread, but no go :/
post #22 of 43
I got one from slickdeals.net, and I bought a $35.00 off for 99 cents off ebay (there are 35% off coupons on ebay too).

Actually looks reasonably nice. The main thing that seems to be missing is Bluetooth. Otherwise, I would have preferred this over my E1505 just based on size and weight.

I do like my x1300 video card in terms of speed and such, but the Intel integrated has much better battery life...

I agree with others, this will be a hot seller.

Here are my specs, (mind you i am in Canada), so i got this off a huge pricing error:

- Duo 1.66
- 1GB (2DIMM @ 533mhz)
- 14.1" WXGA+ w. True-Life (1440X900)
- 80GB 5400RPM
- 8X DVD+-
- 85whr 9 cell battery
- 3945 wireless
- Small Nylon Carrying case
$1130 after tax

Way better deal than the $999+tx = $1150 710m we had a few days ago IMHO.

Dell just rebranded the M140 and done "some" upgrades since the M140 is not on to Dell's "popular models".

Don't really see the point in 14" laptops, it seems they're a dying breed.

Usually if you want portability you go 13.3" or less, 15-15.4" for true versatility (especially since they're less hefty than previous gen 15 inchers), and 17" for a desktop replacement/ultimate gaming laptop.

This laptop is actually listed as being a little thicker than the e1505 (1.5" vs. 1.44" IIRC, I guess because they cram more components into a smaller case), and the difference in weight is probably negligable.

So you basically wind up paying about the same as the e1505 but get less features, and probably a more cluttered screen.

What doesn't work for you might work for someone else. 14" widescreen laptops just started hitting the market over the past 6 months, so I don't understand your "dying breed" comment.

well dell dosen't offer a 13.3" so its either 14 or 15.4, so I'd gladly pick 14. and its actually lighter.
