Dell i9300 and Logitech X-530 5.1 Speakers

Hey there, I have an Inspiron i9300 and a Logitech X-530 5.1 and have an issue. My laptop only has one input for headphones and isnt pumping out 5.1 apparently. So I have my center and two rear speakers sitting idly by. Someone have an effective resolution, the i9300 has a pcmcia slot, and I have plenty of USB ports.

i would recommend the Audigy 2zs Notebook PCMCIA card. you can hook up to 8 speakers to this card and the sound quality is infinetly better than the onboard sigmatel sound chip

A mate of mine just bought these speakers today. He was confused about this very problem too! What you need to do is use the splitter adapter thing that comes with the speaker set up. Plug the three jacks into the holes with corresponding colours, and then you need to get hold of a left-and-right-channel to single input cable.

So it's like this....

Much cheaper than an Audigy 2.

ok its actually not that easy, the splitter is from 3,5mm to RCA..

the best option its the audigy 2zs, ive u want proper 5.1..

ir trying to connect 5.1 speakers to 3 channels sound i think..

Meh...it works. Depends if your need for proper 5.1 is enough to spend £80 on an Audigy 2.
