Has anyone gotten an 8600 that actually DOESN'T have a LCD problem? - Page 3

Thanks for the info. I logged into Dell Support (Singapore), but no mention of my screen. The only information I could get was "Processor: PM,BAN,1400,NB,UFCPGA". I installed RivaTuner as well per the thread on the Dell Forums, but all I get is default monitor. I'll probably install the Catalyst drivers and see what I can find out from there.

What makes the U smaller? Just wondering b/c I will be ordering a laptop from Dell in early April. I just noticed the U cost more, so I was a little confused when u said the WSXGA+ is larger....

Maybe its just the WUXGA screens that have the problem with light around the edges.

My WUXGA screen was fine even the 2 replacement screens i had didnt have the white flare most people seem to get.

Brinet - He means the resolution is so large eveyrthing is tiny in comparrison to the SXGA screen

Every single WUXGA screens I have seen have had this problem. Seen 4 of them now. The screen I have now has the light problem however it is hard to see and the lights have to be off with a dark background.

The first screen I had was a Toshiba had the same thing. The 2nd screen was a Samsung has less of it compared to the Toshiba. But frankly, it doesn't bother me at all on the Toshiba screen... I was just testing their support. I checked other laptops... my crappy HP zt3000 also has it and worse. I think there will be varying degree of bleed but almost unnoticeable unless you really look for it. Hope this helps.
