bluetooth mouse hangs

I have a logitech V270 bluetooth mouse. It seems to work ok, it has a slight delay when I start to move it after sitting for a minute but I can live with that. But after a while of usage I'll go to move the mouse and the cursor does not move any longer. Touch pad works. If I turn the mouse off then back on it works again (it has an on/off switch). I thought it might be weak batteries since they had a "fresh" date of 2005 so I changed them but still get the hang.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

The problem is the Widcomm drivers. Completely remove them and let windows install the microsoft drivers. You will be better off with out the Logitech drivers also. Several of us had the same problem.

I see "WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software" in the Add or Remove Programs. So do I just remove that program? Anything I need to install the Microsoft Drivers?

Thanks

Nope. Just uninstall the widcomm drivers. When you reboot, Windows will find the Bluetooth module and install drivers.

Wow I just bought the V270 2 days ago and I am having the same problem as well! Was just thinking about posting this problem and guess everybody's having this problem.

I heard the WinXP bluetooth is not as customizable as the Widcomm drivers, is that true?

And frosty, can you let us know whether using the Windows bluetooth driver solves the problem?

Removing the Widcomm drivers seems to have solved the problem for me (since yesterday).

Evagelion: from what I read the Microsoft Bluetooth stack does not support the Headset profile required to connect with Bluetooth headsets, and hence Bluetooth headsets will not be able to work. Other than that you should have no problems with other devices.

Been running without the Widcomm drivers the last couple of days. The mouse hang seems to be gone. The slight delay when I first move the mouse quickly is still there but I've "heard" that's how BT mouse are.

I'm only using a BT mouse right now so I'm ok. There used to be another bluetooth config icon in the control panel that had options as to what bluetooth services to allow. That's gone after uninstalling the Widcomm drivers.

It's unfortunate that I am using a bluetooth headphone as well, so I guess I'm stuck with Widcomm.

Hi Lance, I followed your advice and it seems to have fixed my problems too. I was wondering if you knew of any way to monitor the mouse batteries without using the Logitech drivers?
