"Aluminum" LCD Insert Replaceable or Not??

Thread Starter
Greetings - no one responded to my post about how to replace the plastic/aluminum-looking insert on the M170 LCD. So - let me ask it this way - can that piece be replaced or is it integral with the LCD/lid itself? Thanks in advance...

I'm going to spare you the barrage of "use the search tool" that you are bound to receive on this one. It is all one piece. You have to replace the entire back panel assembly.

F8469 ASSY,CVR,LCD,17,ATCT,XPS-G2 $79.95

That's how you replace your LCD Lid. Bold is part number and price, description in the middle. Part is identical on the m170 and Gen2. Call Dell Spare Parts to order.
