Been thinking of getting one--good for games and general usage?

General usage should be no problem. For games: theres no alternative to a wired mouse.

why, does it lag really bad?

I've used Logitech's MX900 and Microsoft's BT mouse. The MS one had a little bit of wake-up lag. Didn't bother me to much, but that and their lack of feedback on the scroll button bugged me. The MX900 is nice. I don't notice any wake-up lag. However, if I pick up the mouse and put it down (like when I run out of mouse pad area) it seems like it takes a second to "focus" again.

Either one there's some lag with just general movement. Probably won't notice it unless your moving your mouse wildly about, like gaming.

I want to try the Logitech BT mouse that comes in the Keyboard/Mouse combo, that looks like the MX1000. I've heard better things about that, but you can't buy the mouse by itself.

I have the MX1000 Desktop, The mouse seems to work very well, I have not noticed lag, It replaced a G5 wired Laser mouse. I use the computer to play some games. It is possible that a serious gamer would notice a difference, but I am unable to.

Love my IntelliMouse. Now (like Logitech) only available along with Keyboard Package.

If you get a decent wireless mouse, you will not get any lag. I have the G7, and there is no lag. its just not bluetooth...

Not true.
I've been using microsoft notebook wireless mouse for about a year and play CS:S constantly with no lag at all.

Go for it. I've got a targus Mini Mouse. Fits great in my case and easy to travel with. I just turn it on and use it. I've had it about a year. I bought and returned a Microsoft, Logitech, and some off brand I found at CompUSA.

A couple of items to keep in mind when buying a wireless mouse:
  • Size and Weight - Especially if you travel
  • Battery life - Can it make it through an eight hour day?
  • On / Off switch - Extends battery when not in use

The targus will last around a work week on a couple of triple-a's. That's 8-9 hours per day. I carry a couple of spares with me just in case I accidentally leave it on. (which will eat some battery, but not all of it) Sooner or later, I'm going to buy a set of rechargeable for my desk as I'm traveling less, but the cost justification is right on the border: ~ $25 for rechargeable or ~ $12 for 6 months worth of AAA's.

I do not know about gaming performance, because I don't really game with this laptop (i6000 and E1505). No lag that I can detect, however. Good Luck!

Every wireless mouse I've tried has some delay. (Microsoft, Logitech, etc...) I've been playing Counter-Strike for nearly 5 years using a Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0. When I hooked up the wireless, the delay was instantly noticeable. While it was minimal, it still hindered my ability to aim.

Wireless mice are fine for light gaming and web browsing, but if your a heavy gamer or play fps games that require fast reaction times and swift movements, go with a wired mouse.

Mx1000, play games all the time. No lag.

I just bought a Logitech Bluetooth notebook mouse, so I can put the $30 Bluetooth card in my D820 to use. Anyway, there is some initial lag when you first move the mouse after its set idle for a few minutes. But after that it's very reponsive. And I like not having a USB Receiver sticking out of my Laptop.

Would you guys mind putting some links up to some good bluetooth mice. I have the bluetooth module in my notebook but haven't really used it much. Does Logitech have any other BT mice other than the MX900?

Logitech V270

Logitech has another BT mouse - V270. It consumes very little power. 2 AAA can last over a month. But the only down side is its quite small.

I don't game but I love the MX900 that came with my Logitech Dinovo desktop system. No lag that I can tell and its at least as good as my M$ Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0.

Be careful if you buy Logitech. They won't support or do warranty replacement if your lappie is running the Toshiba Bluetooth stack which is what Dell use.

You have to get a Widcom stack on the lappie if you don't already have it, what a pain.

Never had that problem here. I had to get my MX900 replaced a few months ago. Pretty much no questions, just called them and said it wouldn't work anymore and I had gone through all the software solutions already. Got a new one in about 2 weeks. They also replaced an MX518 and Cordless Optical Trackman around the same time, and just as easily. I've always been impressed with their CS.
