I wish you could have gotten a defect-free 8204, as I did from an early 0601 build, and as many others have reported, but it seems that Acer support treated you very well!
TaY: I would send it in with the defects that you describe. As far as getting a non-Samsung screen, that seems to be a crap-shoot, as it's not a guarantee, and the QDI screen has also had its share of issues (not as many posts, but then again, a very low percentage of posters even have a QDI screen!)

TM8204 was my third type from ACER! Okay, I have had four of them but was not treated any nice from ACER!!! They refused to even comunicate about the problems and took their hands off from assistance when I was asking what the law guarantees here.
I have had 8104 before and it went to the repair depot for four (4) times, finally it came unrepairable!! They refused to exchange it and also to replace it! They said it was OK - even though the screen was giving like 2 seconds of response and the motherboard was whistling and buzzing that much that buzzing from 8204 could be called whispering! And their coment was - your computer is fully all right!
The same guys sent me somebodys else 8104 instead, messed up and kept my laptop for 1 months, lost all the documentation and finally it came with broken WLAN I needed to repiar myself with the technician on the phone, because it was day before Christmas and the guy said he was in a bit of rush, so he might have forgotten to connect it properly!!!
