My notebook speaker produce a crackling noise

My right laptop speaker produces a buzzing noise whenever sound comes out of it. Only the right speaker buzzes, and it seems to have occured all at once. Anyone have any suggestions to this problem?

I've got similar problem with my boss' Vaio (FS series), the sound is cracklingbad either with speakers or with headphones, then took it to the repairer and they said it's software problem, I ended up reinstalling windows back and they're right, the crackling sound gone.

but with me only my right speaker crackles on my acer aspire 3000, do you think it is still worth taking it to be repaired, or should i try to do it myself?

why would you take it to be repaired, just so they can say reinstall the drivers? Go to control panel, add/remove programs, then find your soeaker driver program (Mine is called Realtek Audio). Click add/remove, then reboot. When the computer is back on, insert your computer's driver disk and reinstall the sound drivers. It'll save you some money/work. If it's still fuxed, then try mr repair guy who charges $60.00 an hour to do the same thing.

I am using Dell Inspiron laptop and my left speaker crackles whenever I play music. But there is no crackle when I use earphone. Is it due to physical damage of laptop? Somebody suggest me.
