3DMark05 Score

8168 3D Marks

This is on the demo version of 3DMark05, so the settings they have as default is what I ran. Does this seem about right? I have not done a clean install on this system. I wasn't sure if it would make much of a difference.

A clean install could raise that up as much as a couple hundred points.

You should run on default settings, thats what people compare.

Okay...I did a clean install this morning, ran 3dmark again and got 8217. I'm using the original video drivers. Would using other drivers increase my score?

i wouldn't worry about it too much. That score is fine. I got like 8250 with slightly lower specs (1.83, 1gig, 60gig hd). The difference between 8200 and 8500 is like 4fps maybe. You are fine. just play games!

Same specs but 2gb ram. Straight out of the box i scored 8509. Didn't change any settings. Then I changed to AA=app pref AF=app pref, Image quality-highest instead of quality, Vsync off....and had also installed alot of games and programs. I then scored something like 8462.

I have tried various different drivers and scored around the same.

Someone else did a clean install and scored 8505 i believe. I just add/removed the dell crap and ran a registry cleaner and got 8509. In the long run doing a clean install can only be better all around.

I scored 8600 followed by an 8582 with my M90 system. I do have 2gb of RAM and the 2.16ghz processor. I would say anything from 8100-8600 (depending on system config) is going to be the average for these cards on stock clocks.

so ..... overclocking.... haha

Yip and I have post bench marks here... Withthe card OC'd to 600/720 it get 9416 using the factory image and drivers. With a clean image I get around 9550ish and dell driver. I have gotten it to over 9700 but in looped 3dmark testing it became unstable.
