Hi all,

Looks like your investment on this notebook keeps getting better. I also hear that ATI's M11 VPU kicks ass again, beating Nvidia's 5700

I dont view the EE as an upgrade over the regular 3.2ghz p4.... at leats as far as laptops are concerned... basically it willd o nothing more than drain your battery faster

Wait a minute

So, we can or can't upgrade the processor?
I don't care about the battery so much. It is that cache that is very interesting to me.

SamG we cant upgrade the processor.... well at least we cant upgrade it like we can the video card... im not sure now actually damnit ur making me ocnfused lolololol

cause the alienware rep guy told me that u can upgrade the processor, like the ram, and video card...
well it wont be "do it your self upgradeably processors" like the vid cards

You might be able to do it yourself (voiding warranty) if you went and bought the processor and stuffed it in there. But then again, that would be hoping the bios would auto-sense the processor. Although, there is really no differents in the processors except the cache. I wonder if AW would talk you through it on the phone like the bios update stuff...lol probably not.

From what I know, Alienware Tech support said to me that everything in the laptop is pretty much upgradeable, including the processor. I believe, however that you must buy the processor from Alienware and speak to a Tech Rep, so that you DO NOT VOID Warranty.
