I would like to see a 100 post minimum to post in the For Sale section. With scammers all about 100 is a good amount for some to contribute to the community and then is able access. Also members, if you would like to see this happen please show your support in this thread. Thanks.

For the people selling on their first post, they can just take it to eBay.

my thoughts exactly.

what about those who already have threads made, and have dealt with members with good results?
also, what about members who are also other reputable forum members?

I guess I won't be able to sell stuff here then, but I have like couple thousand posts at Anandtech and a member there since 1999... been a long member in PCA if you guys remember back then.. I wonder if outside reputation counts?

I don't think posts should matter, as long as they have decent reputation and can prove it. And as long as they post pics with their name on paper next to it.

But how hard is it to look at an ebay auction with a piece of paper with someone else's username written on it, and make that username on these forums?

I like that, i'm sure that a lot of the members here were actually refered from other forums like I was. I was in the market for a laptop and the guys over at [H] told me to check out over here.

I think as long as they have good reps and can prove it, it should be good

I'm caught both ways with this one. I think it is a good idea, but at the same time I started off here in the for sale forum. I can certainly understand the concern over scammers though. Some sort of feedback exception like heatware, or ebay might be workable, but exceptions tend to create confusion at the margins.

No, no, no....let's say start with a 100 minimum heatware rating. I'm kinda short on the verbose, unless ya catch me at a bad time, lol.

It could take forever some people to get 100 heatware. I don't sell lots of things, and don't buy a lot, but when I have something that I don't need and want to sell, I would like to sell it here or on any other forum. Plus ebay charges a fee to sell things, and you only get 7 days (without having to pay more) where here you can post for free, and stay up until it sells. Plus, do you know how easy it would be for someone to get 100 posts. All they have to do is just bump a bunch of people's threads, or make minor comments in something, so really the 100 posts aren't really legit

I've been on heatware for many years and I still haven't hit 100. (darkripper)

I also don't like the 100 post minimum to sell/buy here...

no wonder I couldnt sell anything.,

in the other forums I am a member on its over 100 post then you can sell in there.

on AnandTech they have no restriction on selling, but it's general that you should have some rating on heatware, I myself have like 60-70 something from 1999, yeah, 7 years and I still have just that much. Newbie usually have to ship first or crossship, there is a troll list for scammer.. o well, I just think that 100 min. post and the 100 heatware being too strict. That will bring down the whole FS community on NBF drastically.

post farming kkthx? HOW ABOUT, you people go out of your way to aviod scammers......somthing sounds shady back out....other buyers might be found you people are quick to sell your items and go after low priced items you dont even care i ask EACH seller/buyer i work with, their full info paid for e mail addy, i e mail it (if im the seller, or if item is higher than a certin ammount) and wait for their responce as well as heatware, it has a "send e mail to user" option.......wait for a responce to make sure its ligit having a 100post count means jack dittly you guys need to be smarter, look up the phone number, look up the address, is it ligit? if not, back out what we really need is PAID for e mail addy be a must......and more mods wouldnt hurt i supose EDIT: for those of you who think 100 posts would help.....ill make an account right now and have 100 posts in no time and make them seem like i was helpfull.....100 posts is cake also, maybe mods can check out sellers heatware and deem them "ligit to sell/buy" or check things like that, personal addy info, emails ect ect soulsaver

I don't think 100 posts will help much, for example look in the Dell 17' section at the reputation points thread, one and two month members with posts in the thousands, they use it like a chat line.

there are people with thousands of posts who have only been members for one month ?...maybe hundreds.....anyways

i agree that it isn't hard to get 100 posts....sometimes you just have to trust people or either really check someone out before you buy or sell

As easy as it is to get 100 posts, it will still weed out the lazy scammers. Figure the determined ones are going to get through one way or another.
