Battlefield 2 played okayly on medium settings. It will not do much better than medium setting though and certainly does not compare to the 7800go in the E1705. I can't comment of half life 2 because i never got a chance to try it out before I returned the laptop.
(Edit: forgot to mention when I tried out battlefield 2 it was only with a gig or ram, the game really needs 2 gigs)

Yup, I pretty much gave up on the E1505 because the ATI X1400 is not a great card. Heck, it's not even a good card. It will not do well in any games. It only has 4 pixel pipelines, 2 vertex shaders. They should have at least given us the option to upgrade to the X1600 which is a much better mid of the road Video Card with 12 pipelines and 5 vertex shaders.
I still prefer the Go 7900GS which runs cooler and has 16 pipelines but I would have been happy with the X1600. The ATI X1400 just wont do no matter how much memory it has.
I swapped my order for the E1705 for just that reason. Now I can have my cake and eat it too. Only problem is I loose out in mobility.
