If the MB is truly out of warranty, here are a few suggestions:
1. If you bought the system with a credit card, see if your card includes an extended warranty on purchases. Most major cards offer at least a one-year extension of the warranty.
2. If your system could have been damaged because of an electrical storm, or power surge of some type
a. AND if you had it plugged into a surge protector, the manufacturer of the surge protector may cover the repairs.
b. AND if it was not connected to a surge protector, see if your home owner's or renter's insurance will cover the repairs.
3. If all else fails, check with some place like orphanlaptops.com to see if they can help you. Make sure you tell Don that I sent you his way. (I don't get anything out of it other than his gratitude for word-of-mouth referals.)
4. You may be able to order a new MB from the Clevo repair facility in the US. 1-909-598-2263. I do not believe that they have a website.
