Well basically no one really notices since most experienced users do a clean install the moment they receive their new lappys.

And don't forget that WildTangent is also classified as spyware by many labs also.

why do they do a clean install? does that remove that hidden artitino that holds the ctrl+F11 image?

I think the article is over the top, the author's attempt at being dramatic weakens it entirely.

I poted it here to know the truth from Dell users. Is this article correct?
I have no dell and none of my friends either. So I have no way to confirm. If somebody knows it from his personal experience, pls tell.
Otherwise it may be just an Anti-Dell article.

hhmm article was written last year (July 21st, 2005). Not sure if that Dell system (current) still got Mywaysearch.
A friend of mine purchased Inspiron M140 and he said there's no spyware (after running a scan with Ad-aware SE, Windows Defender, SpySweeper, Spybot Search & Destroy, Norton Antivirus, online scan using Housecall).
This means .. Dell has change. Maybe what they have now are those trialware but not spyware?

Hey plAythiNG,
No most people just reformat the current windows XP partition to get rid of all the installed stuff on the drive (Like norton internet security 30 trial, AOL and the such) It's a pain to try to uninstall it all and your alway left wondering if you missed something. I think most people on this forum have certain application they would rather use then what Dell installs and that "bloatware" can take up system resources that can be used else where.

That was a valid post..I dont have that app install from Dell, how can it be true if it is not installed on the newly purchased DELL computer?!? I only offer my input, your required to determine the truth for yourself.. its a good life lesson.
