I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can only tell the manufacturer of the LCD display by the physical part number. If you have the parts break down list of if you physical look at the LCD out of the bezel. At least thats what I seen posted before. Hope this helps

I'm pretty sure he means the part number off the back of the LCD module mounted in the bezel. The one the manufacturer put there.

I don't have my computer yet but I asked Dell to e-mail me an invoice.

It ended up having my service tag on it and I put it into my user account on Dell's site. Once I did that, I can check it's original configuration and it lists my screen as a Samsung, HD as Seagate (woot) and DVD as Phillips.

Don't know how accurate that is until I check the system out for myself with SiSoft Sandra or something similar.

When I look up my Service tag on my E1505 I see...

XD570\tLIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WSXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., GLARE WIDE VIEWING ANGLE, LENGTH/LONG

Is that your service tag or your order number you're looking up?

My own shows:

CF264LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WSXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., GLARE WIDE VIEWING ANGLE, SAMSUNG

Since it's different and mine shows SAMSUNG then maybe you got a different model

Mine says the same thing (Video Electronics Standards Association) and I think it's an LG. All I know is the first E1505 I received had a Samsung screen in it and it was the worst screen I've ever seen in my life (lots of light leakage and sparkles galore). The replacement which I believe is indeed an LG, is awesome!

On another note, my first DVD burner was a Philips and it sucked (noisy, would stick when ejecting, etc.). The replacement is an NEC. Are the NEC drives considered the best?
