My 1710 OC Benchies so far...

First off, mAD pRoPS to Zyb for the instructions for this (check here for instructions on OCing your GPU)

I scored 9202 on 3Dmark05 at 600/720.

Check this:

At any rate, I am going to test those speeds for a while. I suspect the key difference between our systems is that I have 1GB RAM and he as 2GB. Also, he may just have a better card for OCing. Either way, I am pretty stoked. I just eclipsed 9k. Over time, who knows. Maybe I will squeeze a little more out.

This is fun.

EDIT: Oh, and I have the T2500. If Zyb has the T2600 that would also explain the difference...

JEBUS! I can't wait for mine!

BTW- Whats your processor?

That's a really nice clock speed you got there.

Real life benchie...coming right up!

So, I am playing Oblivion with all sliders to max, 1920x1200 and HDR on. I am getting an average of 30FPS:

I am new to FRAPS. I managed to get the FPS printing. But I can't seem to get high and low showing as well.

Pre OCing, I was getting an average of 18-20. Even without OCing, the 1710 is insane for Oblivion.

LOD textures mod will make it so your grass in the distance doesn't look so blurry.

Thanx. Good eye!

Yup, I just went through an OS re-install and have yet to apply a nice package of mods and textures. I was so stoked by the performance of the lappy that I wanted to get the shot out.

Have you tried some of the mod packages out there? Some people are going to great efforts to compile a nice set of decent mod/texture collections. I had Overlords package installed, and when I carried over my save files from the previous OS install, everything worked like a treat.

Oh yeah. It's still looks good on a fresh install. Not familiar with the Overlord mod, but I'm using a few Natural Enviroments.

I hate Adrenaline, I tried it and my horse got schooled by a huge pack of those fire throwing goblin things (name escapes me right now).

My bad...the overhaul mod pack.

Adrenaline...as in the Redguard power?

hmm... might make me rethink that oc'ing the gpu thing. Haven't loaded Oblivion yet - too busy at work. But 30fps is nice.

Well, the Adrenaline mod is supposed to spawn more creatures in packs, but the amount is ridiculously high. I was being attacked by at least 15 of those goblins, and I saw a pack of about 25 deer while riding.

The goblins killed my horse!

I think there is a 'lite' version out there, I may pick it up.

Overhaul sounds awesome, but... you have to start a new game from my understanding, not going to do that...

Agreed. I try and add a mod at a time and see how it affects the current save. But then, most of my OBing til now has been 360. Finally getting into the PC version now that I have a system that beats the 360 for performance.

That adrenaline mod sounds challenging in a good way. Hmmm...I might give it a try, just to see the volumes of NPCs on the screen. How does the framerate get with that much action on the screen?

Welll, the thing is, I was maaxing out OB before the gpu OC. However, now it is making for a smoother experience.

I really need to get into a very long gaming session to push the current settings. I have yet to see the GPU get into the high 80s...

Just got this on my M1710 with T2500, 2 GB RAM, etc. with 7900 GTX running at 561/731 (the values that drivers suggest for optomized values for my machine) ...

Honestly? I was pretty suprised at how it didn't lag.

Course, may have been running for my life to notice...

When I saw the deer herd, I stopped and watched as they grazed, bounced around a bit, etc. My first reaction at the sight of all the deer dropped my jaw. It would make sense to maybe have one or two large packs, but the spawn works everywhere and everyone, including NPCs.

If I can find the lite version, I'll let you know. Since I know the normal version won't get even close to taxing your system, if anything it will help the mobs look more realistic.

The 'Life' mod is awesome, the appearance of kids in Oblivion is great, but don't talk to them. They sound grown up, but they do follow their 'parent' around, which is cool.

Another fun one is Oblvion Cats. I need to update this one, as I hear there is a new update for it. The cats are great, it brings realism to Cyrodiil but when you strike them, they growl like a tiger or a lion.

My hope is to maybe get some lake life, turtles, fish, snakes, etc. Maybe some birds, rabbits and squirrels too.

Oblivion is... awesome, but the lack of realism bugs me.

I suppose my biggest issue now is the draw distance. I can't stand it that a fort or something just 'shows up' suddenly... so lame.

OC 3DMark05 Score 9477 OC'd 600/750

I OC to 600/750 and she runs fine , although during one part of the test I noticed a few flashing bits in the image, but it didn't crash or get too hot, in fact when at idle this system gets hotter than when under stress as the fan only cranks up hard during those periods. Oblivion runs on high everything with no probs.

heh, these cards seem to be quite overclockable, and the cooling system in the M1710 handles it like a champ. I'm up to 630/731 with no visual artifacts at all and I haven't even started with the memory beyond what the "Detect Optimal Frequencies" suggsted. Doesn't even seem to be running that hot, but I'm going to have to test that a little more.

Here's the 3DMark06

Had to adjust the GPU as it was slightly unstable at 600/750

Nice 3DMark Scores

I think I found the sweet spot for my card ... I could probably eek a few more MHz out of it, but I'm pretty happy with where it is now:
