HP/Compaq NW8000 or Dell i8600?

Hi all,

gonna have to order my laptop in 12hrs and I've to pick one from the following alternatives:

HP/Compaq NW8000, 15"UXGA, 1.7GHz, 512Mb 333MHz, 60Gb 7200rpm, ATI Fire GL T2 128Mb

Dell Inspiron 8600, 15"WUXGA, 1.7GHz, 512Mb 333MHz, 60Gb 7200rpm, ATI 9600 Pro Turbo 128Mb

The price of the laptops is almost the same.

Any insights which one to choose for serious application development and business use would be greatly appreciated! I'd love to hear users' comments about NC8000/NW8000.

HP/Compaq is a much better choice.

The Dell 8600 has questionable built quality and spotty support.

If price is no object than I'd go with the NC8000. I have a N800v and it's an incredible machine. Rock solid and awesome built quality.

Never had to use Compaq support but I know they have good support for their business machines.

Do a search around the forums.

yeah, I had been thinking about that everytime I saw my sig. Then I thought is there anything wrong with EARLY requests, LOL
