AX6 Upgrade to 9700?

Still kickin it with my old AX6. Recently lost a HD, still not sure what it was that literally fragged it.

I have considered upgrading from the 9600 "turbo" to a mobility 9700. I use the laptop enough to warrant the upgrade, if it were possible.

Hypersonic has led me to believe that the upgrade IS NOT possible, but they also tried talking me into believing that a VIA K8T800 chipset (and AMD DTR 3400) was not "capable" of running PC3200 at 200 MHz.

Anyone swap a mobility 9600 for a 9700 in the AX6?

For that model, it would take a complete motherboard swap to upgrade the video. That is considering that it was available with both of those video subsystems which I don't recall offhand. Also, there was not a huge jump in performance going from the 9600 Turbo to the 9700 Mobility.
