Me! I simply cannot own a new notebook that doesn't have the wxga+ resolution like the z70v. The extra space does help so much!

Internet and word processor at the same time
Side by side pdf file viewing
huge space for photoshop
widescreen beauty for movies

fantastic!

aye aye, SXGA+, can't go back to anything smaller...

I was terrified when I went to my school lab(Was meeting a friend), and 'attempted' to surf then web at 800x600

mmhmm. maybe wuxga+, just to have a true hi-def screen (1920x1080)

I was hooked to high res after seeing SXGA+ on a 14".

Once Vista is out the only reason for low res is gonna be for gaming performance. With scaling fixed everything is just gonna look nicer with more dpi.

wsxga+ resolution looks great on my 15.4" screen, but I think I'd prefer a step down if I had a smaller notebook.

z70v's video setting can be changed to backward such as 1400x1024 or 1024x768 as long as you can choose the right setting and adjust the resolution. 800x600 seems to be small, i don't think the user like this resolution.

OMG, so true. WSXGA ftw! No monitor can compare. I LOVE the screen space. It's beautiful.

I'm waiting for this beast to come out.

Today my friend took out his Dell with widescreen resolution 1280x800 (something like that). Ewww the icons were so huge and so little room!!!

When I started using my z70v almost a year ago, I thought man, the icons on the screen are too small, but now it has become the standard (for me).

I'm in the other camp, I have WXGA (1280x800) resolution on my 15.4" screen and that is the way I like it. I have tried other resolutions and I have not been happy. I also like gaming with current games at native resolutions and I'm able to that very well with the X1600 at 1280x800.

Yeah, the screen resolution has now become one of the biggest issues of me when purchasing a laptop. But I think it can be negated by purchasing something like a A8JM (14") which has a DVI port and solid graphics and output to a 20"+ widescreen LCD. Works just as well. More mobile that way and you still get the desktop real estate when you're really doing some power work.

I actually prefer wxga (1200x800) on my 15.4.... readability >>>>>>> screen space

I read it just fine, and I don't need to tint my body forward to be able to read. There is always the option to change the font size.

My sister has the 1280x800 resolution on the 15.4" HP laptop, and definitely everything is way too big and no enough space for photoshop and such.

I tend to like to have more desktop space too for coding, but too bad I want the W3J... going to have to learn to deal with 256 less pixels, darn more scrolling :/

I also recently found out there is actually side to side scrolling for the z70v touchpad! Weeee....
