Screen Film | Protector - Truelife effect

Thread Starter
Good afternoon,

I have an I6000 that has the matte finish on the LCD.

Can anybody recommend any screen protectors films I can purchase that will produce the 'Truelife' effect, or at least as close to this as possible?

I am in Australia, so any retailers in Australia first would be grateful.

Thank you.

I don't believe there is a product like that. Any film applied is only going to cover the already matt finish.

Hi, Yes I understand it will go over the matte LCD.

But I know of LCD/notebook films | protectors | guards you can by to cover you LCD and it will give it that 'glossy' look, imporve contrast and reduce glare.

This is what I am seeking.

You might want to check out http://www.nushield.com/products.htm

Ive never used any of their products but ive heard they work pretty good. I think there is a few people on these boards that use them. If you do a quick search you might be able to turn up some pics. If I remember right I saw a post that had some a few months ago on like an i8600 or something.

When do you expect to have one available for the Dell 9400/E1705?

Hmmm... sounds like a good investment. This may be a silly question, but I wonder if I could use a Nushield on a Truelife display to get rid of the glare, but keep all that glossy goodness? That would be the best of both worlds, right there...

I dont think you can reduce glare more then the matte finish does. if anything it will add more.

I emailed their support (about the E1705), and they replied with this:
It is very likely that this laptop screen is the same size as the
other Dell 17" widescreen laptops such as the Inspiron 9400. To
verify this, can you send us the visible screen dimensions (length X
width, in mm) and we can search our inventory for a film that may
work for you? Thanks in advance for your help.

Seeing as I don't yet actually have the e1705 yet, does anyone know where I can look up the visible screen dimensions of the e1705?

As far as I know, the Dell 9400 is the exact same machine as the E1705. The 9400 is simply the business version of the E1705, but they are identical at least as far a physical demenisons and stuff. So if they have a screen cover for the 9400 they have one for the 1705.

You can order the 9400. It fits perfectly on my E1705.
