Very, Very Happy With My 8600 - Page 2

almost sent my Dell back because of poor customer service and the 1400 truemobile wireless card.
Glad I didn't after doing more research other company's also have poor customer service and I solved the wireless issue by going with a D-link pcmica card works great.
The display the weight infact the entire package by Dell is hard to beat.

Glad I kept it and it because of all your input.
thankyou

I couldn't even open my Doom 3 files on the 51m. They run great on my 8600!! And, don't even think about LAN gaming with Alienware's dog-squeeze of an internal wireless card.
Oh please

BTW I own two dell laptops (8100 and 5000). Don't judge a computer by how it plays ONE game. I love my Dell 8600 but REALLY love my A-51m. Try rendering 1 hour of digital video with your Dell and THEN compare it to an A-51m. Not trying to start the flaming but this is hardly a fair comparison of two laptops.

I didn't judge my 51m by ONE game. While I had it, I evaluated both notebooks according to the games and applications I use. I'm a writer...I write/edit books, manuals, articles, speeches, CD-based tutorials, and many other types of media, including video (I'd be surprised if your 51m's battery could make it through an hour of video rendering). I also play a few games, such as Homeworld 2 and some FPS. Wanna explain to me why H2 runs so badly, why the Doom 3 files wouldn't even open, or why my 8600's benchmarks were higher than the 51m I had, last October? In every instance my 8600 performed equally or much better...plus, I got an infinitely better screen, triple the battery life, a wireless card that buries the 51m's card, and a lighter machine that cost about $600 less. For ME and what I do, the 8600 is the superior notebook. I'm not interested, nor have I the time for these infantile flame wars. If your 51m performs as well for you as my 8600 does for me, then congratulations to both of us!!
