Hypersonic Aviator AX6 with AMD 64?

Anybody have a review/opions on the Hypersonic Aviator AX6 with the AMD™ Athlon™ 64 DTR processor? What are Hypersonic like in terms of build/reliability. I kinda like the idea of going with a 64bit processor to test out Windows XP 64 bit beta and maybe have a bit of future proofing! Not sure how the AMD 64 compares with a P4 with Hyper Threading. There is an option to have 128Mb on the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro but shame it cant have the UXGA screen.

To me it seems as if the industry is about to have one of "bigger" leaps of going from 32bit to 64.

well here's my experiance..I personally own one of their older (now discontinued) zx5s...which is another clevo.. The thing runs great. It's actually faster then my desktop. I got a whole bunch of my friends to buy laptops from them (we run a lan in nyc area). Because of that i had a chance to see pretty much every one of their laptops. Im impressed with the AX6. One of my buddies got it a few weeks ago. the 128meg version. the 3d mark scores were almost identical. Battery life owned...and paintjob was freakin awsome. worth the price imho

Discord,
could you please ask your friend, if he can find some time,
to write 2-3 words about it?
thanks

I am now also looking ay the Voodoo ENVY m:855. I would like to know how good the screens are as I intend to do a lot of photo/video editing.

I am also looking at the eMachines. These would be in a different (lower) class compared with the Voodoo or Hypersonic but cost much less! I am tempted just to get this for now and wait for the dust to settle on the newer processors (pending AMD 64 mobile, ATI etc)

Another choice, same notebook for a lot less

Priced nice, same notebook as Voodoo and Hyper minus some options.

Well, regarding 64 bit, I think its definitely here to stay and now that M$ has beta'd W64, there's bound to be more momentum building. I figure in a year, the norm will be 64 bit. There's a lot of stuff going on this year and with the slow economy big firms have been holding back on replacement schedules. With all that's happening, they aren't about to spend a load on current tech when the future is right around the corner. I can just see whole industry gearing up for a massive orgy. The question is when will it settle down enough to make buying sensible.

And you said the 128 MB is an option, that's been my major beef with the AMD equiped notebooks. They put a P4 competitor in a notebook, team it with a wimpy graphics system and don't understand why its not the hottest item. I keep telling folks, Go for the gold. Go for the gold.

i am considering getting a notebook based on the AMD64 but as there may be a big leap in tecnology in the next 6 months to a year i dont see much point in spending $3K on a designer system just yet so I may go with the eMachines 6807. It does not have all the best components and build quality but it seems to get favorable reviews for the price. It only has 64Mb VRAM and i am not sure how good the screen is. For now it may well do the job for me, then when 64 bit sytems are more mature then i may spend the $$$ on a sexy, cool paint job, hip machine!!

I have looked at the Voodoo Envy, how does there upgrade plan work?

I'm the the same boat as you, looking for a AMD64 notebook. I've considered voodoo and hypersonic but both are really expensive. Take a look at MEDDUDE's thread. He bought the same system that Voodoo and Hypersonic offers from this vendor http://www.********.com/shop5/. If it turns out well for him, i'll probably buy from them. It's almost $1000 less for the same system from Voodoo.

I will check out http://www.********.com/shop5/. Dont know who or waht they are! But I will look into them. Their AMD notebook does seem similar. Voodo et al do have good products and support but IMO they are a bit too expensive

How cheesy. They copied Hypersonic's page format and text. Shows lots of class.
