You can get the 512MB NVidia Geforce Go 7900 GTX with Dell's XPS 1710.

i say if you have the money go for the aurora Malx

The only thing that concerns me about this new sli setup is heat. One of the most troublesome things about Alienware laptops ( I have a 5620D and a 766) is heat. Now add not one but two high performace video cards and imagine the amount of heat those will generate. Hopefully Uniwill or whomever manufactures those laptops will have a very efficient cooling system to keep those monsters at bay. Otherwise, im quite impressed and am looking foreward to seeing some benchmarks on them.

Still, 512MB should generate more heat than 256MB (due to added memory modules). So we must wait and see if they are offered later on.

So why not pay more to get sli 7900 gtx because if your getting thfis notebook then you are probaly already gonna drop around 3 or 3.5 k.

Actually the 7800 GTX seems to be much better than the 7900 GS

yeah, but ( I love responses that start with that...) The whole alure is to have the dual cards. If they offered a dual 7800 GTX configuration- everyone would probably go with that over the 7900...

I think I might go for the mALX. Is the MotherBoard Manufactured by Nvidia?
And if it is do you think it would be more (rock solid) quality and perfomance wise compared with the MotherBoard on the Aurora M7700?

and what about that backpack, is it the same exact one they use for the m7700 or is it a new size just for the mALX? I've been looking online for a good computer case with wheels and can only find one so far and I am not sure if even it would be big enough.

The motherboard does have NVIDIA components on it (for the SLI and processor) but being a Turion Mobile processor it does not compete processing and CPU wise against the full blown Athlon 64 on the m7700 when it comes to CPU heavy operations (read heavy calculations like 3D rendering, heavy math operations, physics, whatever).

Since the mALX has dual video cards it provides faster and better graphics than a mobile system with a single card. It all comes down to your needs whether you need more CPU or graphics power.

Anyway, both systems can handle current and upcoming games with smooth framerates and resolutions.

If they sell the backpack with it is because the system fits in it, so you should buy it if you need it.

Dose anyone got a picture of the bottom of m9700?

not the Alienware, but it's the same chassis:

Hmmm I wonder what kind of a cooler stand or whatever would fit the m9700 chassis the best...
