going away for a week, cant stand waiting for my machine hehe.

1 last question because i think its arrived by the time i come back

the drivers.. uninstall old first or use update driver.

battery, when i get the machine - not insert the battery but use only the power cord to set up the machine.
And leave the battery on over night?.

And what is this cd bios install, i heard this is the only way to update the bios?

Only speaking for my 8600, came with charged bat already in and ready to go.

I did a clean isntall of win xp pro then updated all drivers that I wanted from the dell web, did not use the dell driver discs that came with the computer.

The new A04 bios can be downloaded as an exe. file and booted that way, don't have to use any disc or floppy.

yeah, when i got my 600M, did a clean install, battery was partially charged, but plugged her up anyway...got the drivers from the site as well and updated to omega drivers...I would recommend turning on your lappy before the clean install, check for dead pixels, and just to see if it "turns on"...after that I did the clean install..

I advise the Dell Radeon drivers since they fix a couple of problems for certain games that the Omega drivers do not like for Neverwinter nights, Homeworld2, Final Fantasy XI, Warcraft3. You can download th ebios on the Software page i have stickied ^_~
