Quick Update: I initially was motivated to purchased this mac because of boot camp and the ability to boot windows. After playing with tiget for only a few hours now I almost dont want to use windows again! So far the only issue that Im having is a heat issue. The laptop gets very very hot. Im sure most of you have heard the thermal paste issue and im not thinking about taking the laptop apart and correcting this issue. Im going head back to the apple store this morning and speak with a tech there before i dismember my baby. More to come!

Quick udate again, after going back and forth with apple I think I may be returning my macbook pro. I have a feeling that this heat issue will not be resloved by apple any time soon, and I think Ill let other people test how long it will take for this heat issue to cause damage to the hardware. Ive been told by many people that I spoke to today that apple is known for not recalling items because they fear bad PR. Dont get me wrong the mac is fast, tiger is slick as hell but I feel that the there is a design flaw with cooling this unit. Im most likely going to return it and pick up a 20in dual core imac. I will keep you posted!

What are the temperatures you are getting? I am like 3 seconds away from clicking buy on a new MBP.

Yeah show us some temps. couse my PB can get hot under full load nevertheless it is not uncomfortable ... Just different people have different opinons about the heat level so the temps will clear the results. My PB can get hot but there is no way i'm returning this baby to apple It is the best lappy ever

very nice. Went to an apple store and checked it out myself and it looks super nice. I was wondering why they had the rubber on top of the hinge though?

It is undoubtably a kick ass laptop, I just fear that its not read for prime time

I was ready to push the "buy" button, but not till the heat issue is addressed. I thought I ready where Apple was going to replace units that were plagued by heat. Is this just bs?

Unfortunately Apple, like most companies, will deny a problem with their product up and down until their faces turn blue. Only after a class action lawsuit is filed will Apple finally do something.
