Curious... Just so we can build a list of what XP discs /installs needs the SATA drivers... Which version of XP did you install... Home, PRO, MCE.... retail, Corporate?, Slipstreamed /Custom install?
It mustve been the disk I had. It was not a "retail copy of windows" take that how you want. It mustve been slipstreamed with sata drives. I just didnt know if all xp installs were that way or if HP drives were different and needed special drivers.
I can vouch for the Sony USB drive not working with the F6 install. Had to purchase the memorex model. No model # just a purple and white box. Worked like a charm! saved the day!
OfficeMax had it. Office Depot only carried the Sony brand.
