DVD+RW will not read any CDs

I just booted my laptop for the first time and it wont read any cds. Not original, burned or any other. Help!!!

Just a few suggestions:

First, try taking the drive out and check for damaged pins and reinsert.

Second, check the device manager and see if the drive is even recognized.

Last, try to reinstall drivers.

That's about all I can think of. Tell me if any of it helps. The last resort would be to get a new cd drive from AW.
