Sager 888e help!

Okay, so in an effort to improve the speed and performance of my Sager I put in an 80gb 7200 RPM 8MB Buffer HD, everything was going well.

The company I work for is an IBM house, we do BIOS updates all the time. So I go out and low and behold there is a considerably newer version of the BIOS for this machine..... 3.15.23

So I update the bios. Now the machine beeps as it's booting, the Caps, Num and Scroll lock lights flash as well as the battery at the base of the LCD, it starts booting to windows and powers off.

Can somebody help??? My laptop has been great, I really don't wan to lose it. I have a call request in with Sager, but haven't heard from them yet.

Thanks,

Kevin

....of course they called back right after I left for lunch....phone tag begins

Let me know how this gets resolved.

I've resisted updating the BIOS on this system because of the possibility of the situation you find yourself in.

When my system went to Phillips for warranty repairs, I had asked them to also update the BIOS on it, but that does not seem to have been done.

Well I talked with Sager, who confirmed it was under warranty and that it sounded like a motherboard issue. They then directed me to Philips who informed me today that not only is it in warranty still, but that if I am within 50 miles of a service center, I have On-Site service. I am hoping I am close enough because I would indeed like to see the motherboard being replaced. It goes out of warranty in October, I won't pay Sager $400 for the board like they said it would cost, but I bet I could find one and do it myself should the need arise again.

I have to say, this machine has run like a champ in the near 3.5 years I've had it. Don't know that I would want another 14Lb laptop again, but I would definitely consider a Sager again.
