HOW-TO: Upgrade your 9400/E1705 with the 512MB 7900 GTX "Photo Guide" - Page 5

Did any of you care to read the warnings? I said let us see if they would even ship. Instead you all hog the phones. You're all idiots. Dell has put a lock on the system for that part number. That part number can only be sent out as a warranty replacement part now. If you want the 512meg 7900GTX, it will cost 1000$.

FYI, after 4 hours of calls today I found out that there was 674 phone calls to order part number CG054 yesterday. That means even if each person tried 3 times, there was still 225 of you that roughly ruined this whole thing.

Don't expect another part number. CG054 is Warranty Parts only now. YF227 is Dell Spare Parts.

Well it did before. I did not ask for that part number it was offered to me as a replacement. Anyway I will be able to get it anyway, I have an estimated ship date of May 18.

Wrong thread to ask for Rep Fixes. Goto the whore thread (Reputation Points Thread).

May 18th is my ship date also, btw. We'll see if it ships.

Part numbers...

I just called dell and wanted to see what the price on a 7900GS would be for my E1705.

The part number they are telling me is:

UF804 Go 7900GS 256MB

and the price they gave me was $325.95

Not bad to replace my the x1400.

I shouldn't need the bigger battery or Power Supply ether.

As far as I'm aware, the 7900GS uses less power than the x1400. So the 90 watt brick and 6cell is all that is needed.
