wow, i can only imagine how much that cost . awesome system, cant wait to see the paint job. I ordered a cx7 with blue pearl and its taking exactly a month to make. Its a painful wait
And welcome to the forums
You know it would not be as much fun if you did not have the long wait

I had to wait from 9/30/05 until 12/6/05 for my EX7 to ship, but it was well worth it.

The graphics that he is going to have painted on it is really sharp and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Definitely will continue to put my systems to shame - as others have with their cool graphics. I have to get a good artist to come up with a killer rat for the future.

In any case - welcome and congrats on the purchase! Glad to see you around!

Holy Super Computer Batman!
Just curious... it seems you went with all the bells and whistles, so why keep the onboard sound?

My FX7 is otw as well.

Thanks all for the welcome.
I went with the onboard sound because most of the time the system will be on my desk and I will have my Bose desk top speakers hooked up, which have outstanding sound. When I am gamming I have on a set of Bose head phones so I can hear every detail of the game, like someone walking up behind me.

What bjiceman was talking about was the option of getting the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy PCMCIA card. It will produce much better quality sound, and since you are primarily using either your head phones or your desktop speakers - you will get much better sound from it.

It is something you can get later at the PX, Media Markt or even online. You should be good though.

Thanks for the info Ratmyr, I saw the option but did not think it would make too much of a difference, because I new I would use my other speakers. I will look for a card in the near future.

toxicity kinda off topic but i don't think there is a pentium m 2.16 ghz. There is a core duo 2.16 ghz or T2600. You may be thinking of a pentium m 2.13 ghz.

I did some research on the PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and have decide it would be worth the extra $115 so I have contacted Hypersonic and had it added to my build. Thank you for pointing this out to me.

The folks here in the forum are definitely good for providing suggestions - especially those who are using the systems. I think you made a good choice. I haven't picked it up for mine (and everyone has read how I hate the sound on the CX7), but that is because I don't have space for speakers where I sit (in the living room next to my easy chair).

Good call and let me know what you think about it.

I know the only current processor being offered for the CX7 is the T2600 (2.16). I agree with you that the P-M was 2.13 or 2.26, but there is a chance that his system may be duo core.... depending on when it was ordered. They also have the 7900 included in it.

Still a nice system.

no it was a mistype, I ordered mine right before they put the duo and 7900 in it. oh well, at least i know i can upgrade it.
Yeah. I need to find out if it is a different motherboard or if it is the same. If it is the same - duo and the 7900 are going to be future upgrades.

My only reason for thinking it is a different motherboard is that Sager is rebranding the model number (from 5720 to 5760).

Good move

I am sure it will be a different chipset, but that should probably have no effect on upgrading the video card unless there is some radical power requirement increase.

I have not investigated that model real closely. Is this video easily removable (and possibly upgradeable) like the EX7/FX7 with a slot on the bottom of the machine? I looked at Sager's detailed pics and it did not mention the video card as being under one of the bottom panels.

I ordered it on the 3rd. It was scheduled to ship today, but was delayed until the 18th.
I was hoping to take it with me to Vegas this week, but I'll have to wait to play with it when I get back.
