Well, the answer is yes and no. You can use a DV camera as a webcam with some softwares, but the truth is that today's computers and networks are too slow to pack and transmit DV stream on the fly. You can use DV, and the picture will be good, but the packets will be transferred very strangle (1-2 sec streams in 10-20 sec intervals or so). It won't work as wished, at least that's my experience. I tested with Skype 2.0, Panasonic AG-DVX100 DV camcorder (firewire connection), and a software called TrackerCam. Perhaps iChat works differently, but I'm a bit sceptical. I think you're best off by using quality webcams, which have taken account the limitations of today's technology.
