Question about touchpad

Is it just me or does scrolling not work? The right side of the touchpad has the arrows drawn but whenever I try to use it it dosent work. It just wont do anything... I checked the touchpad options and its definately enabled. I also tried making it wider but no luck. Double clicking in that area works but no scrolling. I updated my driver too.

Any advice? though its not really vital it would be nice just to know it works...

I forgot to mention that this is for firefox. It works fine in IE.

If it works on IE but doesn't work on firefox, that probably means that it is a problem on Firefox.

In a side note, I followed someone's (who I forgot the name) suggestion to use Elantech's drivers instead of the original drivers for the touchpad in the 5720 and they work much better.

Yes it is much better to delete its own driver and use the generic one.

I read something about that too... Can anyone link me to a guide or help me do this?

This is a known issue, it's been discussed many times. You could probably dig up more info in this forum but I think it's pretty straightforward. Try using the arrow buttons to scroll in Firefox, that's what I do.

I never installed the drivers because of all the issues I have heard of with them. Using the windows defualt mouse driver, my scroll works in Firefox, IE and every program I have tried it in. Assuming of course your talking about the actual printed arrows on the touchpad itself. A light tap and drag of the finger works just fine. I dont have functionality of the round scroll button between the buttons but thats just fine with me, to have a trouble free touchpad.
