I am trying to decide between HP and Dell. (the cost is almost the same)

which one of these two is better? in other words, on which one FEAR/BF2 will run smoother?

(I realize these 2 laptops aren't the best for such games. but still try to answer my question please)

thanks

The dell, no question about it.

The Dell would be better. The Xpress 200m is based on the x300 and has weak gaming performance, while the x1400 has relatively good gaming performance. For playing games I recommend getting the T2400 for about $100 more.

The T2400 is IMO worth $100 more for the increase in gaming performance. If you want to play games get the T2400 if you want to multitask get the T2300. It all depends on what you need it to do.

That's Compaq Presario V5000z.

hey guys, maybe i should wait until HP gets Turion X2? would that beat the Dell notebook?
The Turion X2 would beet the Dell in processor performance but the Dell would still be better for gaming if the Turion X2 laptops still have the Xpress 200m.

the Dell FTW!

in this case Dell hands down. The X1400 is ok for very light gamming. If you can sing the 2400 grab it, if not you still ok with the 2300.

That someone didn't know what they were talking about then. :P

The Dell's the better choice in this case.

Most people wouldn't. If the cost is making you think twice, get the cheaper CPU. In games the GPU and amount of memory matters more.
