SD card reader

Is there a driver that will allow the 5810GZ to read a 2 GB SD card in the front slot or is 2 GB over the rated read capacity, if there such a thing, for this notebook??

It read my 512 MB card fine, but not the 2 GB, which I know works as my Canon SD630 takes pics with this card.

I end up having to use an external reader, which blows.

is it 5810gz or 6810gz?
if it is 6810gz then it is a slight variation from the m360. u might want to try the latest media card reader revision from this m360, gateway download site should have it.

by chance, what brand of SD is it?

ive had several instances where readers will be stupid depending on the brand. I have an SD that my notebook (or any other notebook that uses the same brand and model reader) can read only ~30% of the time, but reads fine in my PDA, Camera, and desktop reader

Guys, I already have the driver, or else the notebook wouldn't read any SD card.

And Gateway's "latest" driver is also over a year old.
I find their downloads section sparce & sketchy at best.

And aside from reformtting the card in the camera, (which I have done), since the notebook won't read it, I obviously cannot reformat it in the PC.

Still, my original question wasn't answered, is 2 GB beyond the read limit of this notebook?

Has anyone been able to read a 2 GB SD card & if so, where did you get the driver & what driver is it?
