W3V Volume level TERRIBLE

Hey Everyone,

I knew the speakers were unlistenable in the W3V but had no idea auxillary speakers would suck too.

I bought a pair of JBL's and they need to be turned ALL the way up including the W3V settings.

My W3V is maxed out with all the latest goodies. Is there any different drivers or anything I can do. Otherwise she ain't a keeper.

Have you tried the latest drivers from the Asus website?
It also helps if you raise the volume with the equilizer using the Sound Effect Manager in the control panel.

I realize this may be a hassle, but you could get a PCMCIA sound card and use that to output to your speakers. That would solve the volume problem.

Thanks. All settings are maxed out completely. Volume still sucks.

Will try Asus website for new drivers. If that doesn't do it on to eBay.

Tried to download HD Audio driver update at Asus website. It didn't work just like my laptop.

I don't know if this will help at all, but the first person to review a W3J had the same issue with volume. He changed something in the bios which fixed the problem. Check it out in your bios. I only say this because maybe its a W3 issue.

Besides the BIOS fixes and what not, you can get an external PCMCIA or USB sound card. I got an Turtle Beach Audio Advantage on newegg for 23 bucks which works great.
