Replacing 7900 GS w/ 7900 GTX on the m1710 yourself...

...is it very easy to do? I'm pretty sure it is, but I have never opened up a lappy before. I just don't want to hurt my baby doing something stupid. What do you need to do in the mobo, just remove a couple of small screws, unplug the 7900 GS, replug the 7900 GTX, and put the screws back in?

Thanks!

That's the service manual for the M1710. Go to the section about the Video Card/Thermal Cooling Assembly and follow the directions. Make sure you have the right screwdriver so you don't strip any screws.

It's a relatively painless process except for the first step. Make sure you use even pressure and move bit by bit when removing the hinge cover.

Good luck!
